![]() At $599 Komplete is a good deal but most of it doesnt really seem that exciting now that I have good Romplers like Sampletank 4, Keyscape, and softsynths like V Coll 8 and Roland Cloud Ultimate. Since then I've bought enough other plugins though to not really need all the other stuff in Komplete. I especially use FM8 a lot.Yes the Komplete 13 bundle is what stopped me from buying Reaktor around black friday when it was on sale at $99. FM8 and Absynth are showing their ages a bit but are still good plugins. Don’t write off the older plugins either. That really ends up being the best value. I love the Una Corda piano for ambient and I use the Indian instruments a lot too. It’s $600, but you get Massive X, Kontakt, Battery, Super 8, a bunch of great effects and sample based instruments. I found that Komplete has enough gems in it to make it definitely worth the price. Like someone else said, NI is one of those companies that make you an offer you can’t refuse. Blocks is not really meant to be polyphonic, though. Frankly, I think Reaktor sounds better than Voltage Modular and you can hide the spaghetti. What it added was mainly the “Blocks” interface which is perfect for guys like me who don’t want to bother digging into the depths and just want to create things like you’d do in Cherry Modular. Reaktor is still amazing, and v6 wasn’t released that long ago. Still sounds good to me, especially if you have enough processor to run it at double your DAW sample rate. I love to hunt around for interesting stuff that other people have and sometimes do a bit of editing, but that’s it. Blood of heroes tyr full#Blocks is not really meant to be polyphonic, though.Īs far as building full instruments in it. So what do you think? Would you invest $200 in Reaktor 6 at this point?Reaktor is still amazing, and v6 wasn’t released that long ago. So what do you think? Would you invest $200 in Reaktor 6 at this point? Blood of heroes tyr Patch#It's fun to work with but no constructions really have their own identity and you don't just look at a stored patch without 10 minutes of figuring it out even if I made it! Another plus of Reaktor is something like 3000 free synth ensembles, but at some point theres got to be alot of overlap and if you cant read the labels what's the point? It's also not on sale now and $200 which seems like a real lot for it's age. How is the sound compared to more modern synths? Does it have a workflow that feels archaic? I have Cherry Audio Voltage Modular Core and that's where I've been building but visually it's a modular so it's just a mess to look at. Hi res screens were not really a thing back then, computers were weaker etc. 6 years on a program like this feels like abandonware. It was released in 2015 which means a long time without an update. It seems like this is what Reaktor is all about, as well as the gigantic library of user ensembles. The idea of being able to design my own control panels sounds like fun while giving each creation its own identity. Still I long for synths with more modern features that are laid out more like analog style synths exactly the way I'd want them while having some nonstandard modulations pre-routed. I have tons of the classic emulations, having both Arturia V Collection 8, Roland Cloud Ultimate as well as the more modern digital variety like Synthmaster and Pigments. So I've been bit by the bug of wanting to build custom synths for my own use that can be laid out in exactly the format I like, and with some features that are beyond what is normally seen on synths that are still easy to navigate. ![]()
